Like 98% of humanity, I love convenience. I like to keep things as simple as possible, especially when it comes to food. A few weeks ago, I stopped at Target for… I literally have no idea… but I somehow found myself browsing the protein bars, and picking up a box of Tone It Up Salted Caramel Plant Based Protein Bars.

I first learned about Tone It Up a few years ago, and even though I’ve never tried their recipes or workouts, I’ve always loved what they stand for. I read the ingredients, and even though I was disappointed that the list included three different syrups, I was hungry, and short on time, so I decided to give them a try.

Overall, I’d give these bars a 3 out of 5. The packaging was gorgeous, and I loved that they included plant based ingredients. They’re a much better option than most other bars out there, but I was not a fan of the taste. The texture was somewhere between crunchy and soft, and every bite left a gritty residue in my mouth. The taste wasn’t anything like salted caramel, but, you know, that wasn't really surprising.

I wouldn’t buy these bars again unless a) I was in a major pinch, and b) they were the absolute best option available, but nonetheless, I’m still a fan of the Tone It Up girls.
