Naked Nutrition Gluten Free Protein Bar Review

Naked Nutrition Gluten Free Protein Bar Review

Naked Nutrition recently asked me to try their new gluten free, grass-fed whey protein bars. Before they reached out, I didn’t know much about Naked Nutrition, so I had to do a little research.

  • WHO: Naked Nutrition

  • WHAT: A U.S.-based supplement company that sells protein powder, vegan protein powder, meal replacement shakes, supplements, and, of course, gluten free protein bars

  • WHY: Their mission is to sell products with pure ingredients, so you know exactly what you’re putting into your body

First impression? That’s a company I can get behind.

So, protein bars. The bars currently come in two flavors: Chocolate Almond, and Peanut Butter. I’m a HUGE fan of chocolate and almonds, and together, they’re one of my absolute favorite things. I was hoping the Chocolate Almond would taste like, well, chocolate and almonds, but to be honest, I wasn’t a fan of the taste. The texture was firm, but easy to bite into, but the cocoa taste was too strong for me, and I could barely taste the almonds. Luckily, I had some almond butter in the kitchen, so I put a spoonful on top, and called it a day.

I love that these protein bars have really simple ingredients. Each bar has 15 grams of grass-fed whey protein, and 14-15 grams of net carbs (total carbs minus fiber). As far as the ingredients go, the only thing I don’t like is that each bar includes 12-13 grams of added sugars from the rice syrup and grape juice concentrate. I’m not opposed to added sugars, but I’m gonna eat them, they’d better come from a cupcake, not a protein bar. On their website Naked Nutrition clearly explains the purpose of each ingredient- which is awesome- unfortunately, that doesn’t take away the added sugars.

So, would I recommend these gluten free protein bars? Overall, no. Would I recommend them over most other protein bars on the market? Definitely. This company clearly has a lot of integrity, and to me, that says a lot. These protein bars weren’t for me, but they could be exactly what you’re looking for. No matter what, I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on Naked Nutrition to see what they roll out in the future!
